House Fire in Coward

On Wednesday, December 16th, South Lynches Fire Department responded to a reported house fire on Hicks Rd. in Coward with reported entrapment.  South Lynches Engine 321 arrived on scene and reported a double wide mobile home 50% involved.  The crew made an agressive interior fire attack and search to locate the missing victim.  The victim was quickly located by the initial attack team but had already passed away.  One other victim was transported to the hospital for injuries suffered during the fire.  The Florence County Sheriff's Office was called in to investigate the fire.  South Lynches responded with three engines, three tankers, one rescue truck, with about 25 firefighters.  Florence County EMS was also on the scene.
